The members and staff of Chambers are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden death of Ian Hutton on 1 May 2010. He leaves behind many friends and will be sorely missed by us all.
Summary
Ian Hutton was called to the Bar in 1998. Previously he was Researcher to the Centre of Advanced Litigation (Nottingham Law School) during which time he successfully completed his Doctorate in cross-border asset tracing and the conflict of laws aspects of international civil fraud litigation.
Ian specialises in litigation and advocacy, particularly in the fields of public, competition, European, regulation and VAT/Customs/direct tax law.
He is a member of the Treasury B-Panel.
Ian is a Hardwicke Scholar (Lincoln's Inn) (other scholarships/prizes include The Toller, Hales and Collcutt Prize, The Nottingham Law School Prize, The Ede and Ravenscroft Prize and a Benefactor's Scholarship awarded by Middle Temple (1994) (declined)).
Ian teaches advocacy, the management of complex litigation and competition law to solicitors from most of the country's leading firms.
